When I got to Tahiti, I wore a life jacket when I swam. I jumped off the bow. That's the tip of the boat. It wasn't scary to take off the life jacket because dad was in the water. Dad, mom and aunt Ida taught me to swim. I had to remember leg holds, arm holds, floating like a starfish to take a break. I have also learned to swim underwater and dive underwater. I freedived alone to 2 meters and with the help of an anchor chain I got down to 4.5 meters. When I dive that far down I have to remember to blow out. I have to hold my nose and blow out because it hurts my ears. It is important to blow out. Flippers are good to wear because then I float. I don't use a lot of strength to stay up. It makes it easier to swim and dive underwater. The sea and air are warm, it makes it easier to be in the water for a long time. I am still practicing swimming to become even safer in the water. There can be a lot of current in the reef.
